Abstract: The objective of this research is to look into the privatisation of municipal solid waste in ASEAN and identify critical factors for success in such these privatised markets. The countries covered in this research are Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and The Philippines. With dynamic economic growth, a number of cities in these countries have become megacities. Besides the threat of high population density, pollution has been an obvious issue too.
