Issue Date: 1996
Abstract: Just-In-Time (JIT) Manufacturing is widely advocated as the 'best manufacturing practice' in a competitive environment. But, studies have shown that companies jumping hastily into the bandwagon of JIT manufacturing are more likely to face difficulties and fail in their attempts. The self-assessment of a company's readiness to embark on JIT manufacturing is critical to its successful implementation.
