Abstract: Principals in Singapore schools are being given greater autonomy to make decisions and they are held accountable for the success of the school. This study is aimed at exploring the leadership styles of the principals and the Professional Zone of Acceptance of teachers. Besides that, the study examines the relationship between teacher characteristics and the Professional Zone of Acceptance of teachers. The study also examines the relationship between principals' characteristics and the Professional Zone of Acceptance of teachers. The respondents were 30 principals and 902 teachers from 30 primary schools. The sample of 30 schools included both Government and Government-aided schools.
