dc.description.abstract | There is a great deal of demand for Product Data (or Information) Management (PDM or PIM) systems in industry. One of the most common and important requirements is product data/information exchange and sharing. The existing PDM/PIM systems provide support for organizing a huge amount of data in a comfortable way, however, they have not yet tackled the most fundamental aspect of the problem, i.e. how to allow a group of people within an organization, or even between organizations, to virtually work together to effectively and efficiently exchange and share product data and information across heterogeneous network in order to achieve their common goal. | en_US |
