Abstract: This thesis shows the implementation of a simulation-based scheduling system in a semi-conductor backend assembly line. It gives a brief introduction of IC manufacturing processes from wafer fabrication to backend assembly and test. It looks into the limitation of the current production planning and control systems and the rationality for a finite capacity simulation-based scheduling system.
