Abstract: The manual statistical process control activity is an experience-related task in nature. Inconsistency in data analysis and the scarcity of human expertise raises the necessity of developing a knowledge-based statistical process control system. The knowledge-based system is able to assist human expertise to generate and analyse various control charts for undesired condition in the printed circuit board assembly (PCB) processes. This project involves the development of a prototype knowledgebased statistical quality control system advisory system for electronic assembly operations.
