Title: A network system for concurrent design in microcomputer-based computer aided design application
Authors: Seet, Pheng Kue.

Issue Date: 1992
Abstract: While the trend for CAD systems in the workstation and mainframe environment is to be encapsulated into their concurrent engineering framework, microcomputer-based CAD (micro-CAD) systems remains essentially stand-alone in operation. This project aims to provide a generic LAN-based solution for micro-CAD systems, so that autonomous designers are tied into a coherent design team that is able to handle complex design jobs. We implemented what is called a pseudo concurrent computer aided design (PCCAD) environment. While waiting for technology to advance to a stage where concurrent engineering can become a reality in the microcomputer environment, this system provides an inexpensive interim solution for advanced micro-CAD users.
