Issue Date: 2009
Abstract: Hard disk drive (HDD) is necessary items in every computer system and in today technology HDD have improve greatly in reducing its size, increasing of storage capacity and recording speed. Seagate is one of the market leaders in manufacturing HDD. As laptop sales especially mini-notebook increase last year, there are a large demand for the HDD. To fit HDD to mini-notebook, HDD is design smaller in size. Therefore it is more likely to damage if it is accidently drop by mishandling. An experiment such as drop test is conduct previously by other student to investigate the effect of the HDD slider when it is subjected to vibration and shock. Images from the experiment are capture to analysis the effect of the impact. In this project, no drop test is conducted. It will only focus on the capture of the image of the HDD and improving on the photo taking technique to get better image quality for easy analyzing in future. The experiment is conduct in two areas, changing the internal parameter (shutter speed, resolution, and frame rate) and external environment condition (equipments position).
