Title: | Design of a desktop micro-EDM using transistor type pulse generator | Authors: | Goh, Beng Hu. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Manufacturing::Product design | Issue Date: | 2007 | Abstract: | Micro EDM refers to the application of electrical discharge matching (EDM) technology for microfabrication. The energy in a single discharge is minimized to as low as 10^(-7) to 10^(-6) J, to achieve very small unit removals and high accuracy. For this reason, there is a strong reliance on Resistor-Capacitor (RC) pulse generators that are able to generate discharges pulses of extremely short duration, as low as tens of nanoseconds using stray capacitance. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/20719 | Schools: | School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
