dc.description.abstractThe report covers the overview process of oil & gas for petroleum fuel, characteristics of alternative fuels, emission of gases and required modifications in vehicle equipment for the use of alternative fuels. The report also discusses advantages and disadvantages of alternative fuels when used as transportation fuel. With the study of the fuel properties, emission contents, basic principles of engine performance, engine efficiency, volumetric efficiency, compression ratio, and air fuel ratio, this report describes their comparison by each types of alternative fuels. Emissions from the gasoline fuel for Singapore are also calculated. This report uses CNG as a case study for Singapore by comparing CNG with petroleum fuel energy for traveling distance, unit measurement, fuel stations, and 2 CO contributors from vehicles.en_US
