This is a study about the Taiwanese nationalism during the colonial period. The Movement for the Establishment of Taiwan Parliament, Taiwanese Cultural Association and The Taiwan Youth etc., played a paramount role in the constituting of Taiwanese national consciousness. “Movement for the Establishment of Taiwan Parliament is a diplomatic offense; The Taiwan Youth (including Taiwan Minpao and Taiwan Xin Minpao) is a propaganda war, whereas the Taiwanese Cultural Association is the battle ground”. This thesis shall attempt to put forth a discussion on how these movement association and media managed to construct Taiwanese national consciousness in the 1920s.
