Abstract: For the past two decades, the Speak Mandarin Campaign has become a common feature of the Chinese community in Singapore, especially in the month of September/October each year. This annual language promotion drive has been the Singapore government's recurrent attempt at changing the linguistic habit of local Chinese. This study aims to explore the perceptions of Singaporeans regarding the Speak Mandarin Campaign.
