Abstract: The aim of this project is to investigate different algorithms for segmentation of moving objects in image sequences and develop new model-based techniques to perform moving-objects segmentation more effectively and accurately. Moving-object segmentation is required for several video processing applications such as content-based coding, object tracking, object recognition an more recently for video object plane extraction in MPEG-4 coding.
