Abstract: The purpose of this dissertation is to provide an overview of different channel assignment schemes and compare them in terms of performance, flexibility and complexibility. We first start by giving an overview of the channel assignment problem in a cellular environment and we discuss the general idea behind major channel allocation schemes.
