In this paper, we will derive the equation to calculate the availability of the shared backup resources on the backup connection when its primary connection fails. We will the further derive a couple of controlled shared backup strategies to limit the number of connection sharing a backup link that can guarantee the backup availability which is required by the real-time applications.en_US
