Title: | Knowledge-based approach for the design and assessment of low voltage electrical system in buildings | Authors: | Shen, Feng. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Electric power::Production, transmission and distribution | Issue Date: | 2000 | Abstract: | To automate the design and assessment of low voltage distribution network, an easy-to-use prototype is developed to provide a knowledge-based approach to complete a sound design and analysis within a short time. Due to the maturity and diversity of the design techniques available in LV system, heuristic rules are developed along with the optimization algorithms, graphical user interface and data visualization. The object-oriented database is used to store the design element and the completed designed network. The design rules and facts are represented in the object-oriented lookup database or hard-coding design procedures, which contains the heuristic rules as well as rules on how to automate the drawing of single-line diagrams. All the design element data, knowledge on the code of practice, design rules can be viewed and updated at run-time. A practical application of intelligent system is demonstrated to complete knowledge-based design and model-based simulation. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/3229 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | Nanyang Technological University | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
