Abstract: Aging studies and life model are normally built with data from destructive tests. An attempt is made to evaluate the degree and trend of aging in XLPE cables taken from an operating 6.6kV distribution network. To understand the existing research work, an extensive literature survey was carried out on the various aging models and the various condition monitoring techniques available to study XLPE cables.
