Abstract: This thesis presents efficient software implementation of Turbo decoding based on the Max-Log-MAP algorithm and its sliding window version using Texas Instruments’ TMS320C6210 (C6210) and TMS320C64x (C64x) digital signal processor (DSPs). The developed software solutions exploit the advanced VLIW (very long instruction word) architecture, efficient instruction sets, and powerful software optimization capability of the TMS320C6000 family of DSPs.
