Abstract: In this dissertation, the Spread Spectrum Technique used in wireless communications especially in the wireless local area network will be discussed. Although there are a number of spread spectrum techniques being made known and discussed so far, two of the better known techniques are the Direct Sequence, (DS) and Frequency Hopping, (FH). However, the discussion here will be based on Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DS/SS) Technique with the availability of Harris PRISIM chipset from Harris Semiconductor.
