A lens-based endoscope consists of a camera mounted on a tube, that is inserted into the human tract. Images captured by endoscopes facilitate examination and treatment of regions inside the patient. These images are commonly subject to image processing to either enhance or segment out a region of interest for better decision making, by employing a wide range of image processing algorithms.
