Abstract: Fasting Induced Adipose Factor (FIAF) has been identified as a target gene of all the three peroxisome proliferator-activated receptors (PPARs) - PPARa, PPARpVS and PPARy. In skin, PPARp75 is predominantly expressed in stratum basale. PPARa and PPARy are expressed in the differentiating suprabasal layers. Studies have shown that PPAR(3/5 and PPARa play crucial role during wound repair. FIAF has been shown to be up regulated during wound healing and the expression pattern is similar to that of PPARp/8.
