Abstract: Hosting of mega events provide a unique opportunity for countries to showcase themselves to the world. Countries who have successfully hosted a mega event have reaped benefits both socially and economically. The competition to secure the rights to host mega events is often intense. Bidding countries have to invest an enormous amount of money, time and effort to prepare and present a convincing case to the relevant organizations to secure the rights to host.
