Abstract: This research looks at reasons for the internationlisation of education from the perspective of the education institutions and the common modes of internationlisation for institutions of higher learning into the Singapore market. The key issues that are addressed in this research involves understanding the knowledge that is being transferred by the educational institution from the home country to Singapore and the entry mode choice of the foreign educational institutions. For the research, we have adapted Kogut and Zander's study (1993) and we examine the relationship between the nature of the knowledge that is being transferred and the entry mode choice of the foreign education institution.
