Title: | Opportunities and challenges for Sichuan China telecom | Authors: | Tanmoy Sinha Tan, Aik Peng Lee, Jules Khoon Leng Pek, Sek Kiat |
Keywords: | DRNTU::Social sciences::Economic development::China | Issue Date: | 2006 | Abstract: | This report provides a current analysis of the telecom industry in Sichuan from the various historical events that have shaped the industry since the early 70s when China began its process of reform. The telecom industry in China, like many other industries, is heavily regulated by the Central government. Until recently it was a state owned monopoly under the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication. In response to the accession to the WTO, Chinese regulators have brought about structural changes and tried to induce competition to prepare the industry for deregulation. | Description: | 50 p. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/35914 | Schools: | Nanyang Business School | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
