Here, the author utilized a threading intercalator, N,N'-bis(3- propylimidazole)-l,4,5,8-naphthalene diimide (PIND) imidazole complexed with Os(bpy)2Cl (PIND-Os) to enhance the sensing of DNA hybridization. Two different detection schemes, namely the electrochemical approach and the electrical approach were investigated. As a basis of fundamental studies, the electrochemical detection of DNA using PIND-Os was performed. Thereafter, it paved the achievement of a novel nanoelectronic detection of DNA hybridization and threading intercalation of DNA using single-walled carbon nanotube network field effect transistors (CNNFETs).
