Abstract: Feature-based design and manufacturing have been commonly used in aerospace part machining. However, to achieve effective and efficient feature mapping to support fixture and multiple axis machining used, the design geometry, dimension and tolerance (GD and T) requirements have to be studied. This dissertation is intended to work out an effective mapping method by case study of two aerospace parts.
