Abstract: Plasmodium Falciparum is a parasite that is carried by the anopheles mosquito through feeding on human blood. The parasite is able to infect human victims causing fever and eventually death if left untreated. The effectiveness of traditional anti-malarial drugs against this deadly parasite is slowly reducing and there is an urgent need to discover possible weaknesses of the parasite for the development of new and more effective drugs. Analyzing the expression profiles of the parasite reveals the biological processes which are essentially describing its lifecycle. Hence, an in-depth understanding of the corresponding can help to develop drugs that possibly disrupt these processes and thus destroy the parasite.
