Abstract: Touch screen monitors have become more and more used in commonplace. There are several different touch sensor technologies available in the market today, each using a different method to detect the touch input or the location of the disturbance experienced by a force exerted by the touch. There are three basic systems that are used to recognize a person's touch which are resistive, capacitive and surface acoustic wave. The sensing of a disturbance to a signal carrying medium can also be easily and efficiently captured by optical sensors also as well.
