Title: Spark plasma sintering of hydroxyapatite and carbon nanotubes
Authors: Pang, Bee Chin
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Materials::Plasma treatment
Issue Date: 2007
Abstract: Carbon nanotubes (CNT) possess excellent mechanical properties to play the role as reinforcement for imparting strength and toughness to brittle hydroxyapatite (HA) bioceramic coating. However, lack of processing technique to uniformly distribute multiwalled CNT in HA with uniform properties has kept researchers in dispute for long. This current work looked into producing HA and multiwalled CNT compacts using Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) process.
