Abstract: As natural gas is taking over town gas as a source of gaseous fuel worldwide, this report covers the different aspects and considerations in the conversion of the town gas network to a natural gas network in Singapore. 3 common types of gaseous fuels will be compared with natural gas as the evolving primary source of fuel in Singapore. The existing gas pipeline infrastructure in Singapore will be described, mainly covering the design, the kind of system which gas is being distributed to the consumers, the materials and configuration of the gas pipeline. The principle of conversion will be covered with focus on the preparation as well as the concept of conversion and its strategy to meet requirements.
