Title: Evaluation of tribological performance of nano composite coatings
Authors: Zhou, Ji.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Mechanical engineering
Issue Date: 2007
Abstract: Superhard nano composite coatings TiAlSiN and CrAlSiN are deposited on high speed steel substrates using PVD technology. The samples were evaluated using a multi-functional pin-on-disc tribometer with AI2O3 as the sliding pin. The tests were conducted under elevated temperatures with lkg/0.5kg loads and 50rpm/200rpm rotation speeds. The failure mechanisms of the coatings under sliding wear conditions are studied by analyzing the wear features of the wear tracks as well as the sliding pin.
