Abstract: This project aims to develop an Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) rating system to assess the performance of the OSHMS established by contractors in the construction industry. The purpose of such a rating system is to assist the construction companies improve their current management system by identifying strengths and weaknesses. It also aims to assist auditors in their audit process as well as provide an indicator to the propertydevelopers about the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards of the contractors tendering for their projects. The system provides a single set of ratings that has clear performance standards and safety attributes to reflect the maturity and ability of contractors in managing safety and health.
