Abstract: This report describes the work done in designing, modeling and animating of a 3D virtual model. The commercial animation software, Maya 8.0, is used for this project. The report will give a brief outline on the development workflow of a 3D animation. The target virtually created is the symbol of Singapore, Merlion. Although Merlion does not exist on earth, the application of animation software allows the virtual design and creation of a high quality, or "hyper-real" character and that are to be demonstrated in this project.
