Abstract: For the last two decades, the Singapore government has been offering a number of scholarship schemes to attract different groups of talented students from People's Republic of China (PRC) to study in Singapore. The Singapore government has hoped that through the scholarship scheme, it will be able to attract these scholars to 'sink their roots' in Singapore thereby helping to solve some of the critical national concerns such as shortage of talents in the country.
