Abstract: The use of agent-based approach to manufacturing control has received quite a bit of attention in recent years. While there are many real successes of agent technologies to report, there is still much to be done in research and development for the full benefits to be achieved. This study represents an attempt to model an intelligent multi-agent controller in a distributed manufacturing control system environment running the Embedded Linux Operating System. The aim of this project is to design and implement an agent-based controller for the Coupled-Tank Apparatus.
