Abstract: In this dissertation, various methods of CVE video streaming strategies and face recognition algorithms have been explored and examined. It covers face recognition by facial feature or by color and face detection by motion. To achieve better performance and best integration with our Collaborative Virtual Environment (CVE), a live facial image extraction based video streaming approach combining both color and motion analysis has been proposed and implemented in this project.
