Abstract: Smith predictor, a predictive compensator, is one of the most effective and prevalent method that is capable to controlling processes with time delay. Many improved and adjusted schemes have been developed to further improve the set point tracking and disturbance rejection performances, whereas less work is available for comparison studies. This thesis presents the progress of development of Smith predictor.
