Abstract: Texture is an important element of vision, and it occurs in a variety of natural and man-made objects. Being abundant in this world, humans often use textures as cues to recognize many kinds of objects. Various commercial applications have successfully used texture as a basis for image representation. Textures can be analyzed by measuring some quantities from the power spectrum.
