Abstract: A brief summary of the different contributions to narrowband modelling that deal with wideband channel sounding over the last few decades is introduced and the concepts that characterize the channel is described to give the reader a better understanding of channel modelling concepts. Similar techniques are also employed in ultra-wideband (UWB) channel modelling; the differences are highlighted in this paper.
