Abstract: Based on the Manau Festival in Kachin, Myanmar, I explore on the social, cultural and political issues revolving this festival and the difficulties that they faced. Through a series of representations, the symbolic meaning of the festival is further explained. Making use of symbols, patterns and graphic design, I hope to provide more information and the ideas that relate to this festival. This is a dance festival belonging to the people of Kachin, consisting of six ethnic groups. To them, this festival highlights prosperity and unity.
