Title: Thermal mechanical behavior of carbon nanotubes
Authors: Leong, Jia Hui.
Keywords: DRNTU::Engineering::Nanotechnology
Issue Date: 2010
Abstract: Thermo-mechanical behavior of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is not well understood. In this study, tensile properties of CNTs at different temperatures are investigated. Tensile tests of CNT bundles were conducted at different temperatures using a laser source. Results are compared with the tensile results obtained at room temperature from previous study. As the laser system could not operate in long hours for fatigue tests, new heating system was designed and replaces the laser system.
