Abstract: The thesis deals with algorithms and architectures for real-time analysis of images for traffic data collection. In the algorithmic approach, an extensive literature survey is firstly presented to introduce general background of this field. The characters and difficulties in traffic vision system are discussed, and most commonly used algorithms are analyzed and evaluated. Later, a set of improved algorithms is developed and elaborated by the author. A comparison of these improved algorithms with conventional algorithms has also been carried out.
