Title: | Robust or adaptive nonlinear coordinated FACTS controller for modern power systems | Authors: | Tan, Yoke Lin. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Power electronics | Issue Date: | 1998 | Abstract: | Modern power systems are large scale and complex. They consist of a collection of several independent and spatially distributed dynamic subsystems interconnected together. In the control of power systems, one usually faces poor knowledge of the plant parameters and interactions between subsystems. Centralized control of such systems is often uneconomical owing to the cost of information transfer between subsystems, and unreliable because of the complexity of the information network. Also the design and implementation of the centralized controller are complicated. Therefore, power systems are more likely to be controlled by a decentralized controller that consists of several local controllers. These local controllers are independently designed for local subsystems using available local signals for feedback. It is obvious that in controller design schemes, parametric uncertainties, nonlinearities and interactions have to be considered as well. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/38974 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Rights: | NANYANG TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
