Abstract: With ever increasing concern for environmental protection and energy conservation, the development of electric vehicles has taken on an accelerated pace. The permanent magnet motor is one of the key technologies identified for the commercialization of electric vehicles. In such applications where energy efficiency is critical, it is important to adopt a model capable of predicting and representing the core losses in permanent magnet motors during motor design stages.
