Abstract: Wireless sensor networks are characterized by dense deployment of sensor nodes which collectively transmit the information about sensed events. Collaborations between computer scientists and the other-domain scientists have produced networks that record data at a scale and resolution not previously possible. To maximize the battery lifetime of the distributed wireless sensors, network protocols and data fusion algorithm should be designed with low-power consumption techniques.
