Issue Date: 2007
Abstract: Online banking and e-commerce experienced rapid growth over the past few years and show tremendous promise of growth even in the future. This has made it easier for fraudsters to indulge in new and abstruse ways of committing credit card fraud over the electronic channels. Statistics of the losses incurred due to credit card fraud show that technology is yet to catch up with the new trends of fraud and every new step towards effective fraud detection is of immense commercial value to the whole business-to- consumer industry.
