Issue Date: 2007
Abstract: The design and simulation of UWB filters using multiple-mode resonator (MMR) is presented in this dissertation. The MMR is formed by loading three open-ended stubs in shunt to a simple stepped-impedance resonator in center and two symmetrical locations, respectively. Modified UWB bandpass filter with the central stub and side stubs located at different sides of the simple stepped-impedance resonator was then investigated. By properly adjusting the lengths as well as the widths of these stubs, the upper stopband of the UWB filter is widened above 10.6 GHz.
