Title: | Auditory models for low-bit rate audio coders | Authors: | Kundapur Sandeep. | Keywords: | DRNTU::Engineering::Electrical and electronic engineering::Electronic systems::Signal processing | Issue Date: | 2006 | Abstract: | Perceptual Audio Coders incorporate human perceptual modeling techniques in order to reduce data rates, while maintaining high fidelity of the reconstructed audio signal. Auditory models form the backbone of such coders and auditory masking is the key phenomenon that is exploited to remove perceptual redundancy. But, most of the auditory models which are currently used in many medium to high rate audio coders estimate masking conservatively. At very low bit rates, more accurate auditory models are needed. | Description: | 93 p. | URI: | http://hdl.handle.net/10356/39103 | Schools: | School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering | Fulltext Permission: | restricted | Fulltext Availability: | With Fulltext |
