Abstract: Given a broad scope, we aim at the analysis of image content in the compressed domain and compare with other techniques that performed in the spatial domain. We focus on studying the use of wavelets transform (WT) properties and relating them to image indexing. It will attempt to formulate a visual-based image indexing scheme that uses the wavelets to describe and examine pertinent image features. Three different image indexing techniques using wavelet features are presented.
