Abstract: A novel approach towards the formation of glycosidic bond in stereoselective manner has been studied. An intramolecular aglycon delivery system utilizing thioglycosidic tether was investigated with the design and synthesis of glycopyranoside 17. Preliminary results suggested the reaction conditions favored an intermolecular pathway, affording glycosides 20 and 22 with β-anomeric selectivity.
